Artist Statement:

In my recent work the natural is simplified: stripped or painted, the stable is made mobile, one material strains to be another. By changing an object’s use, nostalgia for the original form is created which brings understanding and hopefully yearning. The work is then both the new form, and a reminder of what it was in the past. Through this I wonder what exactly is natural.
