Artist Statement
Earthwork Amphitheater is the home of our Music @ Franconia concert series, and was created by artist team Drew and Ali, both former park interns. Drew and Ali collaborated to construct a stage and design the landscape in front of the stage, planting trees to delineate the space, and forming earthen mounds for the audience to sit on while watching a performance. Drew and Ali also designed and built the gathering space outside the park office and residence. Both are sculptors in their own right, and investigate formal concerns while exploring the properties of man-made and natural materials.
