Join Franconia Sculpture Park and Ruff Start Rescue for our very special inaugural Yappy Hour at the park. Visit our 43-acres with your pup, or leave with a new best friend! Ruff Start Rescue will be on-site with dogs available for adoption, and a portion of all proceeds will benefit their organization. This month we’ll be celebrating “Pride Pups”, so tie a rainbow bandana around your pup’s neck and show your support for the LGBTQIA+ community. Tag your dog in front of your favorite sculpture, play a game of corn hole, and enjoy a cool beverage…we’ll even have Bark-tinis! Enter your dog on-site to participate in our peanut butter eating contest to win prizes. Dogs can also create their own painting for you to take home! Plus, we’ll have a portrait area for you and your celebri-pups to get a commemorative photograph taken at Franconia. Cuteness overload!!  Pet Supplies Plus in Roseville will also be on site with free samples and swag!

Ruff Start Rescue is a 501ce nonprofit foster-based animal rescue based in central Minnesota. Since 2010 we have rescued more than 13,000 animals. A majority of them had a truly rough start, coming from situations of neglect or abandonment. We also help animals that are strays or owner surrenders. All receive proper veterinary care and are housed in foster homes throughout the state of Minnesota as they wait for their forever home.

In addition to the dogs on-site available for adoption, Ruff Start has a very special pup that cannot attend the adoption event who has been eagerly awaiting finding their family!

MERLE: Merle is a special boy looking for a very special home. He needs a very experienced dog owner.
From his foster: He is a good dog with just a few glitches. I think he would do best in a household of only 1 or 2 people that would have equal contact with him. I wouldn’t recommend him with young children as he does have a history of getting sassy with his human roommates. He met a female dog that is smaller than him and he really liked her, but he has not done well with other dogs in the past. So he would probably do best as an only dog. He loves going for a walk, although he can’t go for too long because of his joint issues. He does well with getting a bath, and he loves belly rubs.
