Artist Statement

On June 21st 2017, the summer solstice, a funeral ceremony was held for a white steel sculpture wearing a swollen rain boot. With hopes of a more ideal future, residents of the park left peaceful and hopeful offerings to accompany the object in its burial. This plaque and large steel-frame headstone mark the gravesite for “White Legs”.
