Artist Statement

When designing this work, I wanted to build a piece that would always help the viewer look upwards. This is significant because I believe life should always be about moving forward and looking up at life’s mountains.

We have example after example of religious prophets or personages having to climb the highest point of the tallest mountain to reach a state of spiritual exaltation. A point where they are closer to heaven or speaking to God himself. In similitude with our own lives, we can also climb those mountains or trials we all face and place ourselves at a point where we feel enlightened and elevated.
